Spring into Fynbos

Spring into Fynbos

Tucked away, down on the Cape Peninsula is the Good Hope Nursery, the beautiful and tranquil indigenous plant nursery near Cape Point. The nursery was established a quarter of a century ago in Hout Bay, and moved to its present location in 1986, 4.5km south of Scarborough, just over the road from Cape Point Nature Reserve. Normally a visit to the nursery is a special outing, but once a year there is an event which take place, a celebration, which encourages you to step into springtime at Good Hope Nursery. It is a festive day, and an outing for the whole family! It is a drive in one of the most beautiful parts in the country and once you are there, you can plan your discounted indigenous garden, pick up a few locally produced crafts and then relax with lunch in the shady tea garden while your children enjoy horse rides, face painting, jumping castles and the playground. Along with the festivities the nursery offers 20 percent off all plants, free talks at 11am, a free guided fynbos walk at 1pm, Fynbos Fusion food, a succulent footpath, an outdoor tea garden, a mountain flower display, arts & crafts, kids fun, as well as music and expert gardening advice.

September is Springtime in South Africa, when a country comes alive with colour, So visit the Good Hope Nursery for some fynbos fun!
