Miles of Smiles Half Marathon and 10km

Known as the small town with a big heart, you will be surprised by the warm welcome which awaits you in the quaint country town of Robertson. Only one and a half hours leisurely drive from Cape Town, the Victorian buildings, jacaranda-lined streets, rose boarded vineyards, columns of red and yellow cannas as well as bright bougainvilleas all form the back drop to this delightful town and the Miles of Smiles Half Marathon and 10km. The race is a popular run that coincides with Wacky Wine Weekend. From competitive athletes to school kids and families, the Robertson Winery Miles of Smiles attracts thousands of runners every year. The route is circular with the 10km race being very flat and very fast! The course takes you on a scenic tour through the town. The first ten men and women receive gold medals, the next finishers up to position 50 will receive silver medals and all other finishers who make the cut off time of three hours will receive bronze medals. There are also hundreds of lucky draw prizes as well as cash prizes to the first three finishers in both races.

The 2012 Miles of Smiles Half Marathon and 10km will take place on 09 June 2012 at 08:00 at the Robertson Showground in Church Street.

Hand delivered entries are accepted at the Robertson Winery Offices in Voortrekker Road, Robertson. Entries are also taken the evening before the race at the start venue, between 4pm and 9pm. Late entries are taken on race day, between 06:00 and 07:45. Fax entries to +27-23-6264671.

Directions to Robertson from Cape town
From Cape Town take the N1 towards Worcester.
At the set of traffic lights as you enter Worcester, turn right towards Robertson (R60).
At the fourth set of traffic lights (Debonairs is on your right hand side), turn left towards Robertson.
At the first set of traffic lights, turn right towards Robertson (R60).
Robertson is about 40 kilometres further.
