Paarl Cultivaria Festival

Set to be a fusion of pleasure, culture and adventure like never seen before in this country, the Paarl Cultivaria Festival is a dynamic event on the Cape social calendar. The festival sports the highest occupancy figures of all South African arts and music festivals and in 2008 it attained an average occupancy of 81.5 percent. It has become one of the highlights on the annual Paarl events calendar and makes a significant contribution in terms of job creation and skills development in the region.

Visitors to the festival can see some of the countrys top performers in action at various venues throughout Paarl, and the full programme promises a sensory feast with various musical genres, theatre productions, dance shows, comedy, classical music and art. You are also invited to relax at the Heinz Emporium in between the various shows and enjoy world-class wines from wineries such as Simonsvlei, Glen Carlou, Du Toitskloof, Freedom Hill and 10 Chapters and a wide variety of local delicacies. The open-plan entertainment area also includes the Bokomo Kitchen where visitors can sharpen their culinary skills. TV chef Sonia Cabano teams up with other cooking experts to present live food demonstrations ranging from breakfast menus to high tea and dinner dazzlers. But in order to truly make it an event for the whole family, the kids need entertaining too. The children are catered for with a fun-filled programme of shows and activities at the Liqui-Fruit childrens theatre.

The festival itself gets off to a glamorous start with the Bovril Black Tie Dinner each year, which transforms Paarls Main Street into an open-air dining room with a seating capacity of approximately 1000 guests and has set the record for the longest table in the world.

The Cultivaria Festival is a unique opportunity for guests to enjoy a variety of memorable events and feed the mind, body and soul. This years festival promises a spectacular line-up of entertainment. Dates in October still to be confirmed.
