Old Mutual Two Oceans Marathon

The first Two Oceans Marathon was held in 1970 and the race was intended to be training for the Comrades Marathon. It has since grown and become known as the most beautiful marathon in the world. The race takes participants on a scenic run through Chapman's Peak, Hout Bay and Constantia Nek. This event is held in the Western Cape and is popular amongst both local and international athletes.

Presented by Nike, the well organized marathon attracts over 23 000 participants. The Ultra Marathon is a total of 56km and offers breathtaking views of both the Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

The race is run on the open road, but presents athletes with some challenges as they are faced with some difficult climbs. There is also a half marathon, which is 21km - for those who aren't quite ready to brave the 56km haul.

This is definitely an event not to miss out on, whether you're a runner or a spectator, a vibey atmosphere is guaranteed.

The Ultra Marathon starts at 6h30 on Saturday, 26 March 2016
The Half Marathon starts at  05h50 (A-C); 06h00 (D); 06h10 (E) on Saturday, 26 March 2016.

The Trail Run is on Friday, 25 March 2016 and will start at 07h00 (both 10km and 22km)
