Pioneers of Aviation Museum, is situated in Kimberley in the Northern Cape, South Africa. It is known as the birthplace of the South African Air Force. This memorial is a reconstruction of the Hangar and there is a replica of the Crompton Paterson biplane used in flight training. Crompton established a flight school in the early 1900's. At the museum you will get to see and learn a lot about flying and the history of aviation which dates back in Kimberley, as far back as 1911 when John Weston made his first flight to this beautiful city.
Kimberley is well known for its museums and arts and culture galleries. This museum is not to be missed and can be found about 4km off the N8, on the Genreal van der Spuy Drive.

The Pioneers of Aviation Museum is open from Monday to Saturday from 09:00 to 17:00, on Sundays from 14:00 to 17:00 and on Public Holidays from 10:00 to 17:00
