Cape Agulhas Lighthouse

The Cape Agulhas Lighthouse is situated in Cape Town, South Africa. It is recognised for its red and white colours and is the second oldest working lighthouse in Southern Africa. It has guided many ships through the years. The lighthouse is a national monument and has a lighthouse museum where visitors are welcome to come and explore and learn about the history of the lighthouse and the area. There is also a small rustic restaurant where you and your family and friends can sit and enjoy the view over a delicious meal.

The coastline is a shipwreck graveyard due to the rough seas during winter storms and some of these shipwreck pieces are on display at the Bredasdorp Shipwreck museum. Thus, the lighthouse was built. There are seventy one steps to the top of the lighthouse and visitors will be enthralled by the spectacular views.

The entrance fee to the lighthouse is R15 for adults and R7,50 for children between 2 and 11 years old. Prices may have increased so please confirm before travelling.
