The Soetdoring Nature Reserve is situated in Bloemfontein in the Freestate, South Africa. The name, Soetdoring originated from the many thorn trees found in the Freestate. This reserve is small but worth the visit. The whole family will enjoy some relaxing time away from the city lifestyle. It offers some spectacular scenery and most popularly it is home to lions. The reserve does offer accommodation for those who want to stay longer than just the day. There are many other animals to see such as a variety of buck, there are leopards and mongoose to name only a few. The Modder River also runs through the reserve which allows visitors the opportunity to enjoy some fishing. It also attracts many aquatic birds which is just another beautiful feature of this reserve. The picnic sites and braai areas are available and is a lovely, relaxing way to spend an afternoon in the warm sun. This is truly an experience not to be missed.
