Arabella Wine Estate

Arabella Wine Estate

A long History of De Wets traceable back to Jacobus De Wet who arrived in the Cape as an officer of the Dutch East India Company in 1693, by 1697 he had been appointed cellar master to the same company. This itself has lead to many rumors regarding his change of career and fast promotion. No one will ever know, but his descendants have continued to cultivate grapes and bottle fine wines over the past 310 years. Stephen and his son son Jamie de Wet have continued this proud tradition and run the Arabella Wine Estate together as a father son team. Stephen heads up the viticulture and winemaking departments, Jamie oversees bottling, labeling, distribution and administration and daughter and sister, Nicky, is in charge of sales and marketing, advertising and the brand.
A new cellar, bottling hall and tasting room was built at the beginning of 2006 and guests are invites to come and taste the fine wines that are produced at Arabella such as the Arabella Shiraz 2007 which won a double gold at the Michelangelo International Wine Challenge.

The Tasting Room Hours are:
Mon to Fri: 09:00 to17:00 and Sat: 10:00 to 14:00
