Springfield Wine Estate

Springfield Wine Estate

The estate's motto: "from the grape to the bottle with care and passion"

Who would have thought that after arriving in the Cape with a few possessions and a pile of grape vines, that the French Hugeunot family Brueres, of the Loire would still be producing wine over 320 years later. Today Springfield estate in the Robertson Valley is owned and run by a brother and sister team, Abrie and Jeanette Bruwer, direct decendants of the Brueres family. The estate like most in the Robertson valley is picturesque, with a dirt road lined with trees leading up to the cellars, a small dam complete with sailing boat, and the magnificent Langeberg mountains framing all of it. Life From Stone, Special Curvee, Wild Yeast, Method Ancienne (Chardonnay), Whole Berry, Method Ancienne (Cabernet Sauvignon), and Work of Time are some of the wines produced at Springfield Wine Estate. Some of these wines have been exported to countries like, The United Kingdom, The Channel Islands, Canada, Sweden, Botswana, Namibia, Germany, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Wine tasting is available and guided tours are conducted on request, and the estate encourage its consumers to join them on the estate to see what goes into a bottle of Springfield Estate Wine.
Tasting and sales are Mondays to Fridays 08:00 to 17:00 and Saturdays 09:00 to 16:00
