Fire Station Museum, Bloemfontein
Although The Bloemfontein Fire Station is the main architectural landmark, it is Ehrlich Park Fire Station in Church Street, Bloemfontein that houses the largest Fire Service Museum in Southern Africa. Entrance to the museum is by appointment only and Braam van Zyl can be contacted for bookings on +27-51-4058730 (braam@civic.mangaung.co.za). The Museum houses, 17 vintage fire engines dating from 1926 to 1984 as well as vintage mayoral cars, motor bikes, steam engines, ox wagon, fire brigade equipment, ambulance equipment, photos and uniforms. Shows can also be arranged by contacting the fire department.
