Thomas's Guest Farm is unique! All accommodation buildings are historical monuments and are surrounded by hiking trails, jogging paths, swimming, bird- and game watching, rock art, camping and caravan areas. Very historical and other attractions.

First battle (Battle of Belmont) Anglo Boer War, started on Thomas's Farm. The homestead was erected in the 18th century, and was the headquarters of Lord Methuen (British General) now a Guest Farm! The main reason why Thomas's Farm was also the British camp and military hospital, were the open water holes with crystal clear water, fed by underground channels, sufficient for 10 000 soldiers and horses.

Thomas's Farm is less than an hour's drive to Kimberley between the farm and the city, you are on the Battlefield Route including Magersfontein. Your host, Comeen Bornmann invites you to explore an oasis in the middle of the Northern Cape.

Thomas's Guest Farm offers 3 private self catering chalets, each accommodates 2 people in rustic spacious en-suite rooms. Each chalet has one bedroom (with bedding) 1 bathroom a kitchenette: (fridge, stove, kettle, crockery and cutlery ) As well as own private stoep, braai and parking area.

We also have in the guest house 2 rooms (double beds) en suite, private entrance door with braai and parking area.

We have a 8 bed self catering apartment, ideal for families, backpackers, or students traveling.

The guesthouse is surrounded by a large, shady garden with braai-facilities and safe parking. In summertime you can relax by swimming in a farm reservoir which is accessible by steps in the garden. Breakfast and supper is optional but available in the cosy dining room.

Thomas’s Guest Farm is nearly halfway between Johannesburg and Cape Town which makes is ideal to stop-over before leaving the next day!
