Syringa lodge, named after the wild syringa trees found on the property.
Situated on the beautiful Koro Creek Bushveld Golf Estate, Syringa self catering
lodge makes the perfect bushveld breakaway.
Only 2 hours drive from O.R. Thambo International Airport and 1 hour from
Pretoria, Syringa Lodge offers a great getaway for avid golfers and nature
lovers alike. If you are not spending your days on the superb 18 hole
championship golf course (par 72 layout), guests are free to roam the adjacent
nature reserve (4x4 preferential). This 900 hectare nature reserve is rich in
bird-life as well as wildlife, incorporating impala, oryx, kudu, waterbuck,
wildebeest, zebra, warthog, giraffe and red hartebeest.
After a long day of unwinding, guests can relax further, sipping sundowners on
comfortable sofas on the outside lapa. Here you can truly feel part of the
majestic surroundings as you are being greeted by bypassing impala. No day would
be complete without having a traditional South African braai (barbeque) to the
background cries of the bushveld night owls. Guests are invited to use the fully
equipped, undercover braai facilities. The thatched house can accommodate 6 - 8
people (3 x double bedrooms + 2 beds on the landing)
Modimolle (Nylstroom) is the commercial centre of the Waterberg region. It is
situated in the heart of the bushveld some 130 km north of Pretoria. The town is
known for its delicious table grapes, which are available at the beginning of
December. The Waterberg is renowned for its variety of outdoor recreation; the
following is just a brief overview of what the area offers:
- Other championship golf courses in close proximity are Elments Private
Golf Reserve, Zebula Country Club & Spa (formally Mabalingwe Country Club ),
Euforia Estate, Legends Golf & Safari Resort and Royal Northland Golf
Estate.
- There are several mineral spa's in the area, with Weesgerus a mere 10
min drive from Koro Creek. Others include Klein Kariba ATKV resort, Die Oog
hot water springs - Mookgopeng.
- Apart from the 900 hectare nature reserve adjacent to Koro Creek, there
are several other nature reserves in a radius of 50 km, offering excellent
bird and wildlife, including the big 5. This includes names such as Nylsvlei
Bird and Nature reserve, Entabeni Game Park, Snake and reptile Park, De
Wildt Shingwedzi Cheetah and Wild Dog sanctuary, Thaba Kwena Crocodile farm,
Bateleur Nature reserve.
- Donkerpoort Dam, a popular fishing spot for carp, bream, black bass and
barbel is situated 11 km nortwest of the town.
- There are also various other options ranging from horse safaris, hiking
and nature trails. 4 x 4 adventure trails, sky diving and visits to
historical and archaeological sites.
