STRANDVELD VINEYARDS COTTAGES
Guest Farm Accommodation
in Elim, Overberg / Whale Coast,
Western Cape, South Africa
Strandveld Vineyards cottages are situated on the southernmost wine farm on
the continent of Africa. Enjoy a bottle of our First Sighting Sauvignon Blanc,
Shiraz or Pinot Noir while looking out over the vineyards and hearing only the
wind.
Both our cottages offer self-catering accommodation. The North cottage features
a double bed and the South Cottage two single beds. Both units are equipped
with:
- An indoor fireplace/braai
- A fridge/freezer, crockery and cutlery
- Bedding and towels
- Each cottage features a microwave oven that can also function as a
conventional oven. Each unit is also equipped with a table-top two plate
stove.
Strandveld Vineyards is part of the Nuwejaars River Special Management Area
and the Agulhas National Park is only a few kilometres away. Springbok, Bontebok
and Buffalo roam the plains around the vineyards.
Feel free to bring along your bicycle and explore the dirt tracks in the area.
Hiking enthusiasts are also well catered for and the entire area offers
exceptional birding (we are a proud member of BirdLife South Africa).
The farm is situated 15km from the historic village of Elim. This quaint village
was founded by Moravian missionaries in 1824 and features a restored wheat mill,
driven by a water wheel. The clock in the church tower was built in 1764 and is
reported to be the oldest working clock in South Africa.
The southernmost tip of Africa is only half-an-hour away, as are the towns of
Bredasdorp, Struisbaai and Gansbaai.
