Live on the edge of a truly South African Big Hole! The Station Master's Cabin is situated on the premises of the Cullinan
Railway Station, recently renamed Cullinan Junction. This is an end-of-line
railway station, and is used for occasional steam train excursions from Pretoria
and the East Rand, and the odd goods train, during daytime only. The Cabin
overlooks the world-famous Cullinan Diamond Mine and Big Hole. It is a
self-contained cottage with 3 en suite bedrooms:
- Bedroom with double bed and two single beds, wheelchair friendly
shower, basin and toilet, separate double door opening onto stoep.
- Bedroom with two single beds, shower, basin and toilet.
- Bedroom with queen size bed, shower, basin and toilet.
The unit also has a kitchen, lounge and stoep with a ramp for wheelchairs.
Parking is open parking, inside a fenced area with a lockable gate. The kitchen
is fully equipped with a gas stove, microwave oven, fridge, cutlery, crockery
and cooking utensils. Towels and facecloths are provided in each room. The unit
is fitted with burglar proofing and an alarm system, and is serviced by an armed
response unit. Each bedroom has a television set (SABC and e-tv only).
The unit is situated within walking distance from shops, banks, restaurants,
pubs, Post Office and Police Station, and is ideally located as a base from
where guests can explore Cullinan and Pretoria (only 45 minute drive from O R
Tambo International Airport and only 20 minutes from Pretoria), with lots to see
and do, including amongst others, underground tours of Cullinan Diamond Mine, hot
air ballooning, game drives, decadent spa treatments, golf, etc.
