Rosen Grey Cottage in
Umtentweni is a quaint but spacious original fisherman's cottage, restored to offer 3 double bedrooms with ceiling fans, two bathrooms (main en-suite), and spacious lounge (TV
and satellite) and dining area. The fully-equipped kitchen comes with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Daily servicing can be arranged. The cottage sleeps 6 comfortably, there is also a sleeper couch in the lounge suitable for small children.
From the wooden deck you can watch the dolphins at play, ships sailing by and, in June and July experience the world-famous
Sardine Run. Or sip sundowners on the shady patio and watch the abundant bird life in the private half acre of lush, sub-tropical garden.
Just a 150m walk to the warm currents of the Indian Ocean and you will find a safe swimming beach with lifeguards, tidal pool, excellent fishing and surfing.
Rosen Grey Cottage is set in the heart of the beautiful Hibiscus Coast, just one kilometre from
Port Shepstone, the administrative centre of the South Coast, and within easy access of the N2 Motorway. Leisure activities in the area include game viewing, nature reserves, snake and crocodile farms,
Banana Express steam train, two modern shopping malls and the Wild Coast Casino.
There are a number of quality restaurants within walking distance or a short drive away.
For the energetic, there is a choice of 10 top class golf courses, deep sea surf and river fishing, world-ranked dive sites, hiking trails, kayaking, and local tennis and bowls clubs. The nearby
Oribi Gorge boasts the highest swing in the world (33 storeys high) as well as abseiling, river rafting, mountain biking and hiking trails.
Linen is supplied, but guests are asked to bring their own beach towels. No smoking permitted inside the house, but guests are welcome to smoke on the patio. The house is alarmed, and has panic buttons linked to armed security response.
