For the past 3 years we have been recommending the Swan Cottage to all our veterinary students from all over the world, Guy and Jean take them in and they never want to leave, their place is immaculate, Jean goes out of her way to accommodate everyone and their needs. She offers home cooked meals and often takes them touring or includes them in her weekly trip to the Shongweni Farmers Market. Highly recommended by the team at Baker & McVeigh KZN.

My family and I were in desperate need of a holiday and at the last minute went in search of one. We sent out many queries and received a call from Jean. We booked immediately.
When we arrived at Swan Cottage, our breathes were taken away. What a beautiful, scenic and peaceful little cottage we had. Right in front of a dam. The cottage was immaculate. Jean left the most divine rusks for us. Even moved a single bed in for our daughter.
Swan Cottage is highly recommended. For those that want to visit Durban, but not suffer the humidity and hustle and bustle, then Swan Cottage is most definitely the place to stay. Close to all amenities and highways. There is so much to explore in the upper highway area.
For the botanist enthusiast, Guy is well versed and might even share some of his knowledge and plants with you. :)
Jean and Guy are superb hosts and Swan Cottage is going to be our Durban holiday spot in the near future.

We had the pleasure of staying at this cosy cottage with a stunning dam view, and it was truly a remarkable experience. The peaceful atmosphere, surrounded by breathtaking nature, made for a perfect retreat. The abundant birdlife added a delightful touch, and the presence of friendly dogs on the premises made it feel like a home away from home. I couldn't have asked for a more tranquil and enjoyable stay. Highly recommended for nature enthusiasts and dog lovers alike! Our hosts, Jean and Guy, were incredibly pleasant, welcoming, and caring throughout our stay. Their hospitality made us feel right at home. The homemade rusks they provided were a delightful treat that added an extra touch of warmth to our mornings. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests truly made our stay memorable. We can't thank them enough for their kind hospitality. Hope to come and visit soon again.
