What a wonderful beautiful place! Spotless villa with everything that you need. Most beautiful sea view and the best of all it's pet friendly. We absolutely loved it. The hosts are incredible as are the cleaners. We will definitely be back as soon as possible. Can really recommend this place if you want peace and quiet and just want to enjoy the sea and relax.

My family and I would like to send a special thank you to all of you for a wonderfully relaxing holiday that we had there.
As always the service was brilliant and now even more it feels like our home away from home.
The standard of service we receive from the time of booking in till we leave is top notch.
It is always with a heavy heart to we have to drag ourselves away at the end.
I think what impresses us the most is the friendliness of all the staff that you have, even just a small wave makes us feel welcome.
So once again thank you and we will be seeing you again soon.

I am a seasoned traveler, SA, SADC and international. But Mini Villas in Blythedale Beach ranks above top 99-percentile amongst the best! I rarely award 5/5 but Jenny’s (owner/manager) hospitality is par excellence. The place is super clean, scenic and well located to enjoy the ocean view! Honestly I have never experienced these high standards of hospitality anywhere else. I strongly recommend this place!!!

We went to visit Minivillas for the March 2020 school vacation. We had to cut our stay short with 2 nights because of the nationwide corona virus lock down. But never the less with all the uncertainty looming. We did have a great stay! Friendly staff, clean chalets with great care taken to ensure our safety in this challenging times. Great beach with a short walk. We had an absolute lovely relaxing time! Will recommend to anyone wanting to escape the rat race and just relax!

Absolute joy. Everything were perfect. The staff the best I have ever met. The villa were spotless and the grounds so beautiful and clean. Our sea view were outstanding and hearing the sea waves breaking on the beach so calming. I can't wait to go back there again. My heart broke when the lockdown were announced and we had to leave earlier than we booked for. But I have taken good memories with me. Thank you to all of you for making our time spent at Mini Villas so memrobil.

The perfect place to get away from the grind and renew your mind. Lots of space thanks to the garden setting (not a concrete apartment block). Sufficient distance from other guests and privacy. Good security. Everything you need if you enjoy the things in life that matter. Great hospitality. You can go for long walks on the beach, read a book on the veranda or have a swim in the beautiful pool. Close to Salt Rock and Ballito. We saw dolphins and whales. Will definitely be visiting again!!!

We have been fortunate to visit MiniVillas for 3 holidays in a row and the experience was out of this world. In fact we have already booked for this coming Dec! Very friendly staff. Affordable even during high season. Well kept gardens. Clean Villas and serviced daily. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway with a beautiful beach and out of the rat-race of some other North Coast beaches then this is the place to go! You can take our word. Give them a try and chat to Jenny! You will not be disappointed!

Beautiful peaceful little place, with a pathway right onto the beach. Has everything we needed and more The owners and staff were also all friendly and helpful, will definitely return. The only recommendation I could give is to maybe allow the choice between the bunk bends or double bed, otherwise all went perfect.

We went for a girls weekend, Mom, sister, daughter and sisters furbaby. Loved that rescue kitties roam the area and the rustic walkway to the beach. Would have liked a dishwasher or service to make it more of a holiday.

Owner response : (2019-05-28)
Hi Janeen, Many thanks for your feedback, so pleased that you enjoyed your beach weekend in the wonderful May weather! Our basic daily servicing of floor & bathroom cleaning means we can keep our rates affordable and it also affords guests more privacy. If you come again during an off peak period feel free to ask about receiving full servicing of your villa and we will do our best to assist, for a reasonable fee. Regards, Jenni & Team. PS: The We Love Cats Blythedale Team of which Joan and I are founder members, sterilizes, inoculates and gives ongoing support to stray cats in the village and has had a hugely positive effect on controlling the cat population. We had booked at mini villas for the Easter weekend. I initially thought that the beach would be overcrowded but it wasn't...My family had an awesome time in the waves and it was not crowded at all. The Villa was more than what we expected. It was clean and neat, it was very peaceful, we felt safe (we often saw the security doing his rounds). Had an awesome stay, not one mosquito indoors. I would only suggest a small upgrade on the bunk beds (very small space between the top and bottom bunk) and maybe the bathroom.

We had a wonderful stay at Minivillas. The Villas were very clean and had everything we needed. The gardens were beautifully kept and we felt so peaceful and loved watching the ferrel cats playing and lounging around in the plants. The pool was always sparkling clean and inviting. We would go out to our kids staying at Bells Beach House or eat at the Beach Shack and come back later in the evening and always felt safe. The staff and security was very friendly. We could bring our little dog Popsicle with us, much to say she was very fascinated by the monkeys passing through. Everytime we go to Blythedale we will stay at the Minivillas. It was a very homely stay. Loved it.

The resort was very rustic with a nice beach in front of the chalets. Pool area was great. Linen was not up to standard. Noise levels were horrendous but not the establishment's fault (public car park right next door)
Lots of mosquitos and chalets were very hot inside.

Owner response : (2016-03-08)
We are pleased that you enjoyed the beach and our pool. Unfortunately this was possibly the hottest few days we have experienced this summer. We sent you an additional fan to add to the two ceiling fans. By the time we read your departure questionnaire comments the linen in the unit had gone to the laundry. We checked the pillows and regret that we did find two smelt musty for which we sincerely apologize. Had you advised us we would have changed them immediately. We were surprised that you had a mosquito problem because this is unusual with the current drought conditions. Fortunately this is not a malaria area. According to Municipal bylaws the public car park is closed to vehicles from 22h00 daily. We called SAPS & the Municipality repeatedly to stop the noise but regrettably without success. Thank you for bringing your problems to our attention.

We have visited Mini Villas in Blythedale beach in July 2015 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a beautiful sea view a clean and well-kept villa a sparkling pool and the rates were very reasonable.

Both staff and management were friendly and competent and went out of their way to make us feel

welcome and assist in any request thinkable. I can recommend Mini Villas to anyone that wants a holiday

away from big crowds and the city and if you love walking the beach stretches for kilometres and is stunning.

Thanks to Jenni and her staff we will most certainly be back.

Our extended family consist of 8 adults and 6 children - all under 4 years old. Holidays are usually quite chaotic. As a result we have quite specific needs - separate units for each family, a safe fenced swimming pool, easy access to the beach, close proximity parking but also areas that allow for eating and socialising together.

Mini Villas ticked all the boxes! Entertaining the kids was a breeze, the facilities were very quaint and comfortable, well kitted out, with glorious views of the ocean. We spent most of our holiday lounging on the stoep of our unit. Watching whales and sunrises while keeping an eye on the kids!

Thanks for the professional service, Jenni! We'll see you again soon.

My family and I (3 families with small children and grandparents) had a wonderful stay at Mini Villas, Blythedale, in the October school holidays of 2015. The villas were comfortable and clean, and were fully equipped and aptly priced to accommodate a range of family types. Everything was in good working condition, the domestic staff were wonderful, they even went the extra mile and made our beds and washed our dishes (it is excluded from their duties)! The views are beautiful, the setting safe, and peaceful. The swimmingpool with the splashpool for the kids was a winner! We did not mind the parking being away from the units, we appreciated the fact that we could see our children play in the neatly kept garden while having drinks at the braai (the wine glasses can be bigger though!). The security guard, Tembiso, was very helpful and friendly, we did not feel unsafe or vulnerable anytime during our stay. The adminstration staff did a wonderful job with our booking (it changed a few times!), Jenni, Janet and Estelle were very professional, always friendly and just a stone's throw away if we needed anything. True value for money, we'll come again! Thanks Jenni!

The villas are very basic and need an upgrade. Drinking glasses were tiny, wine glasses also. And we needed binoculars to watch the TV which was very blurry. A big downside is the so call security. The electric gates didnt work and we were unable to park our cars next to the villa( hardly call it a villa by the way). Apart from a lone guard, completely unarmed, (not his fault), security is non existent. There are numerous ways for robbers to access the resort. And access it they did. They broke our car window, but luckily there was nothing inside to steal. The guard did see them and called a security company. Too late for us. We spent the next day running around instead of chilling by the beach, sorting out the car window. According to the owners, there's a large gang operating in that area and Mini villas is a soft target because of the lack of security. I do not recommend this place at all. The braai area was also in an awkward position to the side of the chalet.

Owner response : (2015-08-07)
The incident is most sincerely regretted. Sadly there is no way we can undo what occurred. We employ a professional security company, with back up. The guard patrols within fenced complex overnight. We contribute to a G4Security 24/7 village armed patrol who responded within minutes to the call. SAPS responded too, resulting in three teams attending scene. Four persons related to this incident have been arrested. Blythedale has a comparatively low crime incidence with only one road into the village and a security camera at the entrance. No Satellite TV picture problem was reported by the guest and we found the picture perfect? Designated, lighted parking area within close vicinity of units preserves our open and attractive gardens. It is unfeasible to park next to the villas which are close to braais (located to side of units for practicality due smoke). The locking gates installed at the vehicle entrance are not electronic & complaint unwarranted. Our website info regarding accommodation is factual. We invite comments from every guest via Questionnaires to aid in improvement and maintenance of standards.
