VAALJAPIE STATION & RESTAURANT
Traditional Afrikaans Cooking
Family Restaurant in Little Brak River,
Garden Route, Western Cape
Serendipity is the word to describe this tiny restaurant. Snugly fitted into an old Railway Station, it offers an unique experience to diners who enjoy something different, yet comforting. Sporting a menu of Afrikaans Home Cooking, Including something to entice any palate.
We offer you the ultimate experience in taste, being adventurous or just ravenous, we have just the meal for you !!!!
We offer a vast variety of dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Snacks and Teatime treats are also very popular. Although we rate ourselves as an Afrikaans Restaurant there is something on the menu for each palate. We also have a few exciting Vegetarian dishes on offer, which does not end with a baked potato.
If you like to enjoy the tranquil setting of a very small corrugated iron station in a very small town, Vaaljapie is just the spot for you.
The whole setting is "Boere Kitch" with a tongue in the cheek informality. So anything from a tux to a swim suit goes!!!
All our dishes are prepared fresh and our salads are never the same, because they are invented and created every time by our chef.
We encourage diners to "mix and match" their own meals to suit their fancy, and to forget time on our balmy platform.
We suggest that you book in advance, because we are so small, we can only take a certain amount of guests at a time and in winter everybody prefers to sit inside when we light the little black stove.
- Wine per bottle available from our wine-wall.
- House wine (per glass) & other alcoholic beverages available from your waitron.
- We have home made Gingerbeer.
- Sangria & Gluhwein as well as commercial soft drinks.
