NONNIE'S RESTAURANT

Nonnie's restaurant is run from my house. As such, it is a small and intimate affair, the focus being on attention to detail and the needs of individual customers. People who are interested contact me, either by email or telephone, and book (the cutoff date for bookings is one day before the supper). I can accomodate six people at a time and will be your cook, waitress and hostess.

I have no liquor licence but you are welcome to bring your own wine, I do not charge corkage fees. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate and mineral water are available.

You are also welcome to book Nonnie for other events - breakfasts, lunches, and suppers. Again, contact me a day in advance, and we can discuss the menu and the costs. I can accomodate special needs, and will cook (almost!) anything, from steaks to vegan and anything in between. Italian, Vietnamese, French, boerekos … whatever I feel like, or my guests prefer!

What can one expect at Nonnie's restaurant? I am passionate (and a perfectionist) about cooking and take delight in setting a fine table. I have a wonderful organic herb garden and plan many meals around that. As far as possible, the vegetables and fruit I cook with are organic; the animal products free range. As there is only room for six people at a time, the atmosphere is intimate and I can give my attention to each individual customer. I do not buy what I can make myself, and so most of the meals and the ingredients in them - from bread and paté to ricotta, pesto, pasta and quiches - are homemade. The stock used in soups and stews is also homemade and everything is preservative free. The portions are generous - no-one will go home hungry! - and sometimes there are even seconds…
