Café Jiran is located on the ground floor of the Belaire Suites Hotel on
Durban’s North Beach. Our décor is elegant with a European sophistication with
echoes of a continental style Bistro Cafe. We have an outside deck where one can
sip cuppachino and watch the passing parade.
All our meals are prepared on site with fresh seasonal ingredients by our
skilled chefs. We endeavour to use lower fats and natural sweeteners in our

selection of 7 beans, all natural organic, all fresh and roasted locally. Beans
are only the highest quality Arabica and are sourced from all over the world.
Coffees are available in espresso, cuppachino, latte, Americano, French press,
crushes and smoothies.
We exclusively offer the best imported Chinese green teas : dragon well, flower,
jasmine and white.
Juices, Smoothies & Crushes
Our juices, smoothies and crushes are all made from fruit sourced directly from
the Durban Farmers market or from farms in the Ixopo areas of the Natal
Our breakfast menu is extensive and offers such tasty treats as Griddle
Crumpets with wild berry compote and Frittatas made with grilled onion, cherry
tomatoes and cheddar cheese.
Our all day menu offers a wide selection of fresh seasonal dishes including:
wraps, quiches, crab cakes, salmon rosti, pastas, salads, gourmet burgers and
sandwiches and more substantial meals such as sage and thyme chicken, lamb
shank, Entrecote and daily curry.
Bistro Fine Dining
In the evening we offer our Bistro fine dining menu with starters, main and
desserts. Our menu items are paired with a wine for maximum enjoyment.
Starters include: baked brie phyllo parcels with Seville marmalade gastrique
and a mulberry coulis,; Asian style crab and prawn cakes with a lime and ginger
drizzle, Remoulade sauce & and a bouquetier of salad greens; grilled duck liver
skewered on puff rice noodles with sweet chili sauce.
Mains include: L’Entrecote on the bone with soufflé potatoes, brandied
peppercorn and tarragon sauce; Rolled Chicken Mediterranean stuffed with roasted
garlic, peppers and mozzarella; Country Oxtail on dhania mashed potatoes; Sage
and Thyme Chicken on Thai style creamy coconut Udon noodles; Prawn and Mussel
Parapadella; and Butternut and Spinach Tagliatalle.
Desserts include: Panna Cotta with vanilla pods, Espresso Crème Brulee with
cherry and anise biscotti; Tiramisu Extraordinaire with berry coulis and candied
navel orange; and Trio of fruit sorbets.
We also cater to private parties, functions and corporate events.
