Bed & Breakfast/ Guest House/ Guest Lodge In The Crags, Garden Route, Western Cape
Colleen and Clive Noble welcome you to their historic country house which is situated at the foot of the Tsitsikama Mountains at The Crags. Which is to become part of the "Eden to Addo" National Park and is ideal for echo-trails and 4X4 adventures. To the south is Whiskey Creek Reserve and the sea.
The Redford House Estate is part of the Redford Conservancy where animals such as bushbuck, bushpig (wild boar), monkeys, baboons, karakul, civets and leopard can find safe passage between the national parks.
Redford House has three units:
Noble House is a double storey Cape Georgian building with two upstairs bedrooms and a double sitting room downstairs with two fireplaces, and adjacent parking.
The converted Carriage House consists of a very large room with bedroom, sitting area and bathroom.
Mrs. Tiggywinkle's Cottage is a four roomed cottage.
All of the above have double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms with bath and shower, and are furnished with antiques. The two suites in Noble House have T.V.s. Beach towels can be supplied in all units.
Breakfast is served in the farmhouse kitchen or on the pool pavilion patio and guests are personally attended to by their hosts. Delicious food and local stories are the order of the day.
Candlelight dinners can be arranged in the Settler's dining room with stories about the history of the area and its people.
Picnics can be arranged under the ancient oaks overlooking the lake.
There are numerous restaurants in The Crags, Keurbooms, Wittedrift and Plettenberg Bay and bookings can be made for evening meals.
A wide variety of activities is available such as picnics and walks in the nature reserve, tennis, swimming, boating, fishing and birding.
Art Courses and Classes
Art courses conducted by Dr. Greg Kerr, formerly Prof. of fine arts at Stellenbosch University, offer structured, professional tuition in drawing, painting and art theory on a workshop basis.
Art life drawing classes are held every Thursday evening and organised by Dr. Jane Luck who is a professional art psychologist. Artists contribute to the cost of the model and bring a plate of eats to share for supper afterwards. A great deal of fun. Every year there is an art exhibition which is named THE VERNISSAGE which means 'drying of the paint.
At The Crags is a tourist route called "Cruise The Crags" which has destinations which include Monkeyland, Elephant Sanctuary, Birds of Eden, Snake Sanctuary, Kurland Polo, horse riding, Bramon wine farm and tapas restaurant, and various art shops.
Plettenberg Bay, Tsitsikama Village, Storm's River, Keurbooms, Nature's Valley and Wittedrift are all between 15-20 minutes away and offer some of the most spectacular beaches in the country, while activities such as guided walks, bunjy jumping, whale and dolphin ocean safaris, Tree Top Canopy Tours, Storm's River Adventures, golf or visits to Buffalo Hills or Plettenberg Bay Game Reserve can all be arranged.
