Por do Sol Holiday Homes offers self-catering Barra beach accommodation for
up to 6 guests in 8 fully equipped, double storey, brick and mortar holiday
homes.
Por do Sol Holiday Homes is situated in Praia de Barra, opposite Inhambane town
(on the other side of the bay), in the Inhambane Province of Mozambique.
Inhambane town is app 500km's north of Maputo. Praia de Barra or simply Barra in
turn is app 20 km's from Inhambane town
Por do Sol Holiday Homes units at are not sea facing, instead they are built
just behind the dunes (out of the wind) under large shade trees, within walking
distance of the beach (just over the dune).
Accommodation
The units at Por do Sol Holiday Homes are double storey, built of brick and
mortar with corrugated iron roofs. Local bricks, made from clay unique to the
area, have been used creating a lovely effect. The material used for the
railings that surround the verandas is local Palm tree wood and is very durable
and sturdy.
Downstairs the unit is tiled throughout (including the veranda), whilst plywood
floors have been used for the floors upstairs.
The downstairs living room (rented out complete with a lounge suite made from
local materials, seats 6) leads to an open plan kitchen.
The kitchens are fully equipped as follows:
- Microwave
- Electric kettle
- Electric toaster
- Stove (4 plate, gas)
- Fridge/Freezer (electric)
- All crockery and cutlery (including pots and pans etc)
Each unit at Por do Sol Holiday Homes has its own barbeque area, carefully
placed at opposing sides of the units so as to ensure some privacy to the
occupants. The units are rented out complete with 6 Seater patio table and
chairs (durable plastic) on the outside veranda. Next to the barbeque area an
outside showers has been placed alongside the cemented seating area to get rid
of any unwanted sand before entering the unit.
Each unit at Por do Sol Holiday Homes is equipped with 3 bedrooms, 1 downstairs
and 2 upstairs. The upstairs bedrooms share a bathroom (with shower and basin
only) and separate toilet. The downstairs bathroom (with bath and shower) and
separate toilet also doubles as guest facilities and is not directly connected
to the downstairs bedroom.
Each bedroom is equipped with mosquito nets, an electrical ceiling fan as well
as electrical plug points for additional electrical appliances.
Built in cupboards (open fronted) provide ample storage space in all bedrooms.
A wooden stairway connects the two storeys.
The units are rented out complete with bedding (own towels are to be provided).
