"Plankiesplesier" is a beach front holiday cottage right onto the breakers at
Danabay near Mosselbay. With its 180 degrees view of the Indian Ocean and
Vleesbay it offers one of the best ocean views in the Southern Cape.
It consists out of 3 comfortable bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other
with two single beds each, served by two bathrooms. The kitchen is an open plan,
fully equipped, with a stove, microwave oven, a fridge with a deep-freeze,
cutlery, crockery and kitchen utensils. There are a dining and living room with
T.V., and another spectacular room with big glass windows which overlooking the
ocean.
An open sundeck/patio with the roaring breakers down below is the place to be
with every sunset. From there you can see for miles all around the bay. In the
backyard is a comfortable braai facility. There is a special room next to the
cellar with a washing machine and tumble dryer where you can do your private
laundry.
A seperate flat with a double bed and en-suite bathroom is next to the house
available for the bigger families at an extra cost.
There are not a lot of traffic in the street and the cottage is situated at the
beginning of a cul-du-sac.
Linen and towels is provided. Bring your own towels for the beach.
No pets is allowed , nor smoking indoor.
Plankiesplesier is 10 minutes drive from Mosselbay, 12 minutes from Hartenbos,
25 minutes from George Airport and 30 minutes from George.
To Do:
- Right in front of Plankiesplesier is one of the most well known fishing
spots in the Southern Cape.
- Plankiesplesier is only 10 minutes away from the golf courses of
Mosselbay and Pinnicle Point and the driving range at Hartenbos.
- The famous hiking trail, starting at "The Point" at Mosselbay ends after
an awesome 12 kilo's about 200 meters from the cottage.
- A very often visited spot for hang gliders is about 50 meters from the
cottage.
- An endless white sand beach is stretching all around the bay up to
Vleesbay.
- The Langberg Mall between Hartenbos and Mosselbay is about 10
minutes drive away. Mosselbay is well known for its curio shops. A Friendly
Grocer and an OK is just uphill from the cottage.
- Tours to the Cango Caves and Oudshoorn, the Garden Route as well as the
well known Outeniqua Choo-Choo departs daily from Mosselbay.
- There are a lot of deep-sea fishing charters to choose from.
- Speedboat cruises, cage diving, island trips and helicopter flips are
part of a seasonal entertaining programme.
- For the adrenalin slave there is the Bungee jump facility at the
Gouritzriver bridge on the N2 to Albertinia.
