Vermont Guest House, this Tuscan style villa offers luxury accommodation with great sea and mountain views. The pristine Brekfis Bay beach, nature reserve and hiking trails are a stone's throw away.
On the Vermont Guest House sleeps a maximum of 14 people but larger groups can be shared amongst nearby guest houses at the same rate. All rooms have comfortable, extra-length beds and large en-suite bathrooms, while some have balconies with views. Our honeymoon suite is breathtakingly romantic! Other amenities include the beautiful swimming pool, satellite TV and a tastefully decorated communal living room with fire-place. The breakfast is delicious and other meals are available on request. All rooms are equipped with colour television, tea and coffee tray, towel heaters and hair dryers. Small double room with private shower and toilet.
Wheelchair-bound holiday makers are most welcome as the guesthouse specialises in wheelchair adapted facilities such as a lift to the first floor and roll-in shower. The scenic footpaths in Hermanus and Vermont are also wheelchair friendly. A professional tour guide service and transport from the airport is available. We speak English, Afrikaans, Dutch, German and French.
Just a five minute drive away from On The Vermont is the lovely and bustling town of Hermanus, originally a fishing village and now known as the "
Riviera of the South". It has enough restaurants and cafes to excite and satisfy any cosmopolitan palate.
All around the world Hermanus is synonymous with whale-watching and visitors are never disappointed. Whale-watching season is from June until January and particularly during the calving season of the southern right whales - August to October - whale-watchers can enjoy a water show by whales and calves close to the shore second to none.
Hermanus has many sporting opportunities, including golf, hang-gliding, sailing, fishing, diving and hiking. Apart from the Hermanus Golf Club in town, there are superb facilities at nearby
Kleinmond and Arabella Estate.
In the mountains on the outskirts of Hermanus lies the picturesque Hemel-en-Aarde Valley (heaven and earth valley) where wine lovers can treat themselves to a unique wine tour among the southernmost vineyards in Africa. The climate and soil combine to make the valley the ideal location for award-winning Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay wines.
