Our log cabin, On Core at Zawahake Lodge, is situated on top of the dunes of
Barra, approximately 250 m from the beach. Before driving through the village on
the sand road, change your vehicle to 4x4 and deflate tires to 1 bar, if not,
you will get stuck!
From the deck you can see the dows and boats on the see. At night the light from
the fishing boats look like a fantasy paradise.
The cabin: 3 bedrooms, 8 single beds with linen, mosquito nets and a fan
in each room. There are 2 toilets, a shower (hot) as well as an outside shower.
The kitchen, deck and braai area is separate from the bedrooms to ensure privacy
and a peacefull afternoon nap!
Our kitchen is fully equipped with a 150 liter deep freeze, a fridge and a two
plate electric stove. All cutlery and crockery are supplied.
The cabin is serviced daily by our friendly local houseman. He may assist you
with buying fish, cleaning prawns, and doing your washing at an extra fee.
The beautiful environment reminds you of tranquility, peace and rest. You are
surrounded by palm and cassewnut trees.
We are 25km from Inhambane were you can buy fresh produce at the local market,
an Africa experience by itself!!! We recommend you bring your own meat. Drinks
can be purchased at the local Spaza shop.
Barra is a well known scuba diving paradise, with the nearby pristine coral
reefs which include the world famous Manta Reef ,where sightings of the graceful
manta rays are almost guaranteed. Dive operators in Barra cater for the beginner
to the advanced diver with dozens of sites readily accessible.
