Natte Valleij is one of the most beautiful farms in the area. We offer accommodation in two self-catering cottages (Vineyards and Cellar cottages), and a B&B unit situated off the courtyard of the main homestead, this consists of a double bedroom with bathroom.
Vineyard Cottage (sleeps six) is set in the grounds of the historical farm Natte Valleij in the heart of the
Stellenbosch winelands. The cottage is the original dwelling built on the estate (1714); the two central rooms still contain the original reed ceilings. The cottage contains 3 double bedrooms, two of which have their own bathrooms (one with shower), sitting room, dining room and fully equipped kitchen (no microwave). It has a stoep (patio) with braai (bbq), outside table and chairs. It has a private garden. There is covered parking in the barn near the cottage. For winter visitors there is also a log fireplace in the sitting room (we can supply wood).
Cellar Cottage is situated next to the old wine cellars and has a double bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. It also has a stoep with braai, table and chairs. It is suitable for a couple, or a couple with one or two children.
There is a daily maid service (not Sundays) and laundry can also be done for you.
There is a large well-established garden, which adds to Natte Valleij sense of history and mystique with its ancient oaks, pergolas and hidden pathways. There is a large swimming pool in the garden with a thatched rondavel and deck chairs.
Natte Valleij was the original land grant of the area (1714) and is situated in a particularly beautiful valley. There is a fine old Cape Dutch homestead, which was built in 1775. The farm is situated on the R44, 12kms from Stellenbosch and 17km from
Paarl. We are very close to many famous wine estates; we are in fact, where the Stellenbosch and Paarl wine routes meet. The farm is only 4kms from the N1 and 30 minutes drive from the centre of Cape Town and the waterfront.
Go for walks through stunning scenery, vineyards, forests and mountain. You are also able to walk amongst herds of
Springbok, Wildebeest, Zebra, Bontebok and Eland on our neighbouring nature reserve. A rare privilage. Our bird list has now reached 178 species.
We make and sell our own wine on the estate.
