Established on a 300 hectare farm on the source of a mountain stream with
spectacular views, Mountain Fly Fishing offers you an ideal opportunity of
getting away from the stress of everyday life and unwinding in a relaxed and
beautiful environment.
Known as The Land of Silver Mists the beautiful MagoebasHaenertsburg
area of the Limpopo Province is one of the country's best kept secrets. Nestled
against the Wolkberg Mountain Range, the area is filled with indigenous and
cultivated forests, grasslands and crystal clear mountain streams.
Our 3 Star establishment offers guests five fully stocked trout fly fishing dams
on our privately owned property. Our Magoebaskloof accommodation is neat and
cozy, overlooking the serene troutwaters.
The Magoebaskloof area has a long association with trout with the first fish
being introduced into the Broederstroom River in 1904. For over 90 years brown
trout, and later rainbow trout, have thrived in the ideal temperatures of this
northern most part of the Drakensberg Mountain Range.
Our facilities are ideal for hiking, mountain biking, quad biking and bird
watching, which makes us ideal for a family or group breakaway in the beautiful
Magoebaskloof Mountains.

Three beautifully appointed and fully equipped self-catering cottages,
overlooking the majestic troutwaters, offer comfortable and secluded
accommodation in the breathtaking Magoebaskloof. All our units have cosy
fireplaces and built-in braai (barbecue) facilities.
Monte Cottage:
This is a cozy three bedroomed house, sleeping six to eight people comfortably.
This cottage offers the following:
- Fully equipped kitchen;
- Spacious dining room;
- Large living room;
- Bathroom to share;
- Satellite TV (5 channels);
- Great views over the dams;
- Serviced daily
Kingfisher Cottage:
This two bedroomed cottage is built entirely from logs and sleeps four to six
people. The Kingfisher Cottage offers the following:
- Roomy open-plan kitchen, dining room and living area;
- Bathroom to share;
- Open deck, overlooking the breathtaking dams and mountains;
- Satellite TV (5 channels);
- Serviced daily
Logger's Cabin:
This three bedroomed cottage is a recently renovated woodcutter's stone house,
dating back to the early 1890's and sleeps six people. With paraffin lighting
and cottage furnishings, it has the rustic appeal of old world charm. This
cottage offers the following:
- Fully equipped kitchen with gas stove and gas fridge;
- Open-plan dining room and living area;
- Bathroom to share;
- 'Donkey' for hot water;
- Breathtaking views over the dams, plantations and mountains;
- Serviced daily;
- Please note that this cottage has no electricity.
