Mole Valley Farm, relaxed and friendly, welcomes you.
We are approximately 700m above sea level and enjoy a temperate climate that is
an escape from the humidity of Durban and Pietermaritzburg and there is easy
access to the N3 and M13 main roads.
The growing village of Hillcrest is nearby and provides plentiful shops,
restaurants and sporting amenities.
Mole Valley Farm itself nestles in a picturesque valley adjacent to an extensive
indigenous forest that supports abundant bird life and wildlife for you to
explore. We are part of the extensive Giba Gorge Environmental Precinct, a
conservancy of more than 100 hectares incorporating the Giba Gorge biking and
hiking trails.
Within 500 metres flows the impressive Mhlatuzana River and the 100 ft McIntosh
Falls !
In House Facilities
The Cottage has two bedrooms, one double (queensize) and one twin.
There is a fully fitted kitchen with top-loading washing machine.
Open-plan living area with DSTV .
The living area has French doors leading to a covered, tiled stoep, with wooden
dining furniture.
There is a small, lawned, private garden to the rear with outside patio table
and chairs and braai facilities.
There is private parking to the front.
Linen and towels are provided.
Security
The perimeter of the property is well secured and please note that the electric
fence is live at all times.
Securicor security company provide 24 hour armed response.
Access
You may wander freely around the property that is 12 acres in extent. There is a
trampoline and outdoor Badminton / Volleyball court. However, please note that
the main house, the level area on which it is built, including the swimming
pool, the hill behind it and all the stables and out-buildings are private
areas.
Horse Riding
From the farm there are beautiful horse trails through farmland and open
country, woodland and streams with “views for Africa”.
Horse trails may be arranged with Judith and cost R300 per person but are for
experienced riders only.
These seemingly endless trails are also great for walking, running and mountain
bikes. A small dam and nearby waterfalls adds to the charm of this secure, rural
setting.
