Owners Jimmy and Sylvia Saunders extend a warm welcome to guests at Mahem Guest House, a country-style home named after the stately Crowned Crane found in the region.
We are renowned for our warm country hospitality providing guests with a "home-away-from-home" experience.
Mahem is nestled in a beautiful park-like one acre landscaped garden, filled with the colour of more than 200 flowering rose bushes, where the song of the Laughing Dove or Diederick Cuckoo will caress your soul.
This peaceful environment creates a wonderfully refreshing atmosphere for the stressed-out city dweller.

- Mahem Guest House provides up-market luxury accommodation comprising 5
stylish and cosy bedrooms, all individually decorated and separate from the
main building. Regret only children 13 years and older.
- Mahem also offers an up market three bedroomed cottage plus a separate
honeymoon suite all with en-suite bathrooms, recently restored and
tastefully furnished.
Enjoy the best in home cooking! One of the highlights of the Mahem experience is Sylvia's divine dinners... a true culinary feast!
Guests can relax in the spacious lounge-dining area equipped with a self-service bar and an in-door barbeque. Cold winter evenings can be enjoyed in front of an open log fire.

Recreation: Mahem Guest House is the ideal base from which to explore and discover this stunning part of our country. A range of activities and excursions can be arranged by paging through our in-room information guide. These include horse riding, hiking, bird watching, scenic drives and 4x4 trails.
The Memel area boasts some of the best bird-watching sites in South Africa. We provide bird-watchers with maps of birding and scenic self drive routes and we can also provide picnic baskets for your outings.
