Magoebaskloof Getaway is an excellent stop over to the Kruger
National Park or just to getaway from it all.
Fishing, Hiking, Volleyball Court, Jungle Gym, Monkeys and Walking all on the
67ha farm.
On the farm is a beautiful Trout dam and another dam with Bass, Carp, Curper,
Barble. There is also a volley ball court, sauna, weeding venue, jungle gym for
the kids and a beautiful hiking trail with two lovely waterfalls. The hiking
trail goes to the top of the farm alongside a perennial stream. While on your
way up you might see the protected Samango Monkey or you can have a shower under
the waterfall in crystal clean spring water. Come and experience nature at its
best.

Accommodation:
We have fully self-catering, non fully self-catering and camping accommodation
and one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the country. All the Log cabin
etc. are serviced daily.
FULLY-SELFCATERING:
LOG CABIN 1 & 2 (each sleep 4):
This Log Cabin (sleeps 2) has two single beds with side tables and lamps and a
dressing table and chair as well as a cupboard with safe. It has a kitchen which
is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, etc. and lounge with
sofa and DSTV (only free to air channels so bring your own decoder if you are
wanting DSTV) as well as a shower/basin/toilet. It also has a deck that over
looks the Bass dam and it has a type of a Weber (braai) on the deck should you
want to braai. Please note that this Log Cabin is completely self-catering and
all you need to bring is your food & braai wood or else buy wood on arrival at
reception.
LOG CABIN 3 (sleep 4):
This Log Cabin (sleeps 4) has two bedrooms with two single beds with side tables
and lamps and a dressing table and chair as well as a cupboard with safe. It has
a kitchen and lounge with sofa and DSTV (only free to air channels so bring your
own decoder if you are wanting DSTV) as well as a shower/basin/toilet. It also
has a deck that over looks the Bass dam and it has a type of a Weber (braai) on
the deck should you want to braai. Please note that this Log Cabin is completely
self-catering and all you need to bring is your food & braai wood or else buy
wood on arrival at reception.
NARINA (sleeps 4):
This self catering cottage has two single beds with side table and lamps and a
dressing table, a bathroom/shower with basin and toilet, lounge with a table,
bunk bed and fire place as well as DSTV (only free to air channels so bring your
own decoder if you are wanting DSTV), dining room/kitchen which is fully
equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, etc. as well as a personal
garden with ponds and braai.
TROUT COTTAGE (sleeps 4 & 2 on sleeper couch if needed):
This cottage has 2 bedrooms, shower, basin and toilet, dinning
room/lounge/kitchen which is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave,
kettle, etc. with sleeper couch lounge with a and fire place as well as DSTV
(only free to air channels so bring your own decoder if you are wanting DSTV),
dining room/kitchen which is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave,
kettle, etc. as well as a personal garden with ponds and braai.
SAMANGO COTTAGE (sleeps 11):
This cottage has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 lounges with DSTV (only free to air
channels so bring your own decoder if you are wanting DSTV), dining room and a
kitchen which is fully equipped with fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, etc. as
well as a personal garden with a braai and two dams. It also has a lovely wooden
deck of 14m x 4m with fairy lights all around and overlooks our Bass dam down
below.
NON FULLY-SELFCATERING:
CABANA No. 6 & 12 (each sleeps 2 on a camping site):
Our Cabana (3,23m x 3,55m sleeps 2) is situated just above our Trout Dam (10m)
on the bottom camping site with two beds and the other one has a double bed.
Both have side lamps and side table, as well as a basin, inside and outside
lights, wash basin, towels, soap, kettle, plates, mugs, forks and knives as well
as a microwave. Please note that this Cabana is not completely self-catering and
you need to use the camping sites ablution facilities and kitchen which is very
clean and neat. There is also space to put up tents on the same site.
CAMP SITES: (12 camping sites)
There are 12 camping sites, which are about 10m x 10m each with each site being
clearly demarcated by drainage and each site is numbered. Each site has its own
braai area with wood underneath the braai and dustpan. There are two spots on
the edge of the camping area where extra cut up fire wood under shelter can be
collected for free if needed.
The ablution facilities have 2 showers with a glass pivot door and a changing
area, 2 toilets and 2 basins for the females as well as the same for the males
including a urinal for the men. The floors are of black slate tiles. The basins
are modern with mirrors above each basin and an water tight shaving point with a
mirror in both the males and females sections.
Each site their own socket outlets (the round blue plug) and is protected by
it's own 10 Amp circuit breaker with an earth leakage. Each site also has it's
own tap for drinking water etc. but not for washing oily items.
There is a central area to do the dish washing etc., with a fridge/freezer, urn
and a table top for a working area. There are also electric points in central
working area.
The camping area is lit up with lights at about every second site making it a
little more homely and visible.
If any of you are fishermen you are welcome to fish for Trout on the one dam or
Bass, Curper, Carp or Barble in the other dam on the farm.
For those guests wishing to do something different, we recommend the following
interesting activities off the farm:

The Kruger National Park is only 130km, away - about an hour
and a half's drive.

Horse Riding on trails within 5km.

Bird watching all around.

Debegeni waterfall, with walking trails, swimming, braai'ing
and picnics 7km.

Fly fishing in our river and dams nearby.

Viewing of the Ebenezer, Tzaneen, Magoebaskloof and Dap
Naude dams.

Agatha Crocodile Ranch (with guided educational and
entertainment tours daily) about 35km away.

Absailing in the mountains of Georges Valley.

Paintball in Polokwane and Tzaneen.

Pottery and Ceramic studios.

Golf at the championship-rated Merensky Golf Course, Letaba
District Country Club in Tzaneen and Pietersburg Golf Club.

Shopping and movies in Pietersburg 70km drive and Tzaneen
23km (no movies).

Cherry blossom gardens about 10km.

Visit the nurseries in the area which are well known for
azaleas, cherry trees and more.

Explore the ancient Cycad forest at Modjadji, home of the
legendary "Rain Queen".

Visit the well known Sapekoe Tea Estate at Middelkop and
enjoy a guided tour-about 15km drive.

Biggest Baobab in South Africa about 100km drive.

Walk in the rainforests.

Water sports can be enjoyed on nearby Ebenezer and Tzaneen
Dams.

Squash court only 5km away.

Hiking trails can be arranged for those who wish to see more
of the region.

Additional Information:

The cottages are fully equipped with all bedding, towels,
soap, toilet paper and cooking utensils. Braai facilities are in each
cottages garden.

Pets are allowed.

50% of the total accommodation cost is required as a deposit
