Our Luxurious Cabana styled home overlooks the Kandaluvo Nature Reserve Lagoon and Beach offering breath taking uninterrupted views of the Indian Ocean from the living area covered patio, master bedroom and the elevated open deck over the car port.
Dolphins are frequent visitors to Aunty's Bay - enjoy watching them while you dine alfresco on either of the spacious patios. The bird life too is phenomenal and frequent sighting of the beautiful Purple Crested Loerie and the majestic Fish Eagle are guaranteed. The beach with its many rock pools are ideal for children while the rocky gulleys provide excellent angling opportunities for the keen fisherman.
The beach is any easy 5 minute stroll from Luginsmeer and along the way if you walk quietly you stand a very good change of seeing the shy bushbuck and even more frequently the tiny Blue Duiker, reputed to be the smallest Antelope in the world.
Luginsmeer Beach House comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and can accommodate 6 people comfortably. The large open plan living area comprises a well fitted kitchen with dishwasher, stove, double door refrigerator and microwave oven, a dining area for 6, and a comfortable seating area
with TV se and a DVD player (DStv dish is installed but you need need to bring
your own decoder). Two large patios, one covered with a built in braai and one open allows alfresco dining even in inclement weather conditions.
The basement comprises a large covered carport and a single lockup garage housing a large chest freezer and a laundry area together with an additional bedroom and bathroom with WC & cold shower.
On Christmas Day and New Year's Day the number of people on our beach is a maximum of 75 (counted). Normally there are less than 15 persons on the beach. The big public beach, lifeguards, shark nets, secure parking, etc. is 20 minutes beach walk to the south or 3 minutes drive on the beach front road, if that's your bag.
The Natal South Coast is a leading holiday mecca for South Africans as the weather is good all year round, and thankfully about 2 to 3 degrees cooler than Durban.
Munster is a quiet village between
Margate, Umdoni Park and Selbourne are all well worth playing.
Munster has its own sports club with a number of tennis courts, bowling greens and squash courts. All are welcome, apply at the club on the beachfront road, 1km south.
There is an excellent (private) hospital in Margate (10 minutes away), as well as doctor and pharmacy at
Port Edward (5+ minutes from Munster).
Linen and towels are provided for 8 people.
NB: Please take your own swimming towels.
The entire property is fenced with a motorized gate. In addition security is very sound with a sophisticated but easy to operate alarm system that is linked to the Chubb Rapid Response Security company.
Binoculars are fun for the various forms of bird life over the lagoon. There are also Fish Eagles, Purple Crested Loerie, Black Collared Barbet, 3 types of Kingfisher, etc. and of course dolphin and whales. June/July is
sardine run time when the sea and sky is alive with thousands of sea birds and hundreds of dolphins feeding on the shoals of these little silver fish.
Included in the daily rate tariff are the half day services of our maid Gertrude who lives near-by. Gertie will clean the house, make the beds and wash the dishes in the morning. Should you require additional services such as laundry, ironing or baby sitting prices are to be negotiated directly with her. You are required to provide Gertrude with breakfast and lunch rations during occupation.
