Hotel Accommodation
Manicaland, Zimbabwe
One of the very special places in the world,
Mutare, capital city of Manicaland Province.
As a guest at Leopard Rock Hotel in 1953, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother said: "There is nowhere more beautiful in Africa"
This classic, elegant and charming hotel, with its "French Chateau" atmosphere, and its top-of-the-market facilities, services, activities and entertainment, has something very special for everyone.
The Hotel boasts a superb cuisine whether one chooses the classic French "La Roch", the more casual "Conservatory" or a relaxed al fresco meal on "The Terrace".
Leopard Rock Hotel Golf Course is one of the worlds most spectacular courses with stunning views from almost every hole. At 6164 metres off championship tees, the course is a challenge to all golfers and leaves one with the great desire to return again and again. Throughout the course wild orchids, tree ferns and other flora species unique to the Vumba abound, while the lush tropical rain forests teem with bird and wildlife.
With the award for "Best Golf Course In Africa/Middle East" from Hertz in 2000, we have built a new club house which houses the Pro-Shop, Resident Professional, Lounge, Dining area and bar. There are new change room facilities now included.
As a Corporate venue, Leopard Rock provides a convention centre in a stimulating environment. The conference room is equipped with state-of-the-art communication aids, and seats 100 pax cinema style.
Leopard Rock Casino is a glittering venue, catering for all gamblers, and offers Black Jack, Roulette, Punto-Banco, Chemine de Fer, fruit and poker machines for your entertainment.
Some of the many amenities and services include airport transfers, air reservations, secretarial services (on request), message service, photocopying facility, fax transmission, foreign exchange, credit card facilities, safety deposit box, etc.
Leopard Rock Hotel Tours offers various tours through U.T.C. Explore the Bunga Forest or Vumba Botanical Gardens. A game drive includes the opportunity of seeing a variety of plains game including giraffe and to photograph them at close quarters.
A tour north will take you to the lush Pungwe View, Honde View and M'tarazi Falls, the second highest waterfall in Africa with a drop of 762m. Travelling south, the Hotsprings Resort offers a hot pool with water high in therapeutic minerals, and a further drive will bring you to the magnificent Birchenough Bridge, a 330 metre steel-arch suspension bridge replicating Sydney Harbour Bridge.
At 1700 metres on the Chinamatshira range look down on Mutare, over the Vumba and Mozambique and north to the Nyanga mountains. The Cecil Kop Game Park is an excellent choice for viewing white rhino at close quarters from the platform. Visit Thompson's Vlei game park along the eastern border for viewing plains game.
Leopard Rock Game Reserve is another attraction for guests to enjoy. It hosts Nyala, Zebra, Impala, Wildebeest and Kudu.
