History
Leeudoringstad was named after a particular type of thorn bush that once grew in
abundance near the farm Rietkuil, on which the village was founded in 1920.
Attractions
Museum
In 1932 a train loaded with dynamite exploded in the centre of the town,
information and photos of the disaster are displayed in the museum.
Wolwespruit Reserve
Located 2km from town on the banks of the Vaal River, home to many antelope
species.
Points of interest
Leeudoringstad is situated in the heartland of the biggest maize growing area in
South Africa. It is also home to the Head Office of Suidwes Landbou one of the
big five Agri businesses in South Africa.
The town is 30km away from Wolmaranstad, 70km from Klerksdorp and 50km from
Bothaville which is home to the annual (Mid May) Nampo Agriculture Show
attracting more than 20 000 local and international visitors annually.
Leeudoringstad has a small business presense, but you will find that the
necessary services and goods businesses such as ABSA, FNB, Foodzone, Pharmacy,
Post Office, PEP Stores and of course, the local Co-op.
Leeudoringstad is a small and peacefull little town just what the tired and
stressed out city dweller needs to recouperate or if you need to attend a
meeting and does not want to drive back home during nighttime, phone us to spoil

Accommodation:
This stunning Guest House is situated in Schoch Str 92, Leeudoringstad. The
guest House has 4 rooms with 3 en-suite bathrooms.
(a) Room 1 has a double bed with a full en-suite bathroom.
(b) Room 2 has two single beds and an en-suite bathroom (shower only).
(c) Room 3 has two single beds and its own en-suite bathroom (shower only).
(d) *Room 3 & 4 has a door in between (family room if children are coming along
- sleeps 4 people)
The rooms are tasteful decorated with only the finest finishes, granite tops,
plasma Tv's, Aircons, hair dryers and a stunning lounge with a bar fridge and
enough coffee. The stand is about 3500square metres big with a beautiful
swimming pool. Across the road are a camp with a few bucks etc. Breakfast is
served on request and if you only want to stay for the night without food,
you're welcome.
Leeudoringstad Guest House received a grading from the Mielie Hoofstad Forum
(maize capital forum) for the status of a Golden Miellie in collaboration
with Potch University.
