This self-catering apartment is situated on a magnificent stretch of
coastline between Umhlanga and Ballito. It has direct access to the beach with
stunning panoramic sea views from every room.
From the huge balcony watch the dolphins frolic in the waters close to shore,
all year round.
Humpback & Southern Right Whales can often be spotted. Their journey takes them
north to breed off the coast of Mozambique during June & July. They can be seen
returning in September & October to their feeding grounds in the southern ocean.
For the small price of a licence, which can be obtained at the Post Office, you can pick your own mussels off the rocks, collect oysters,
dive for crayfish or fish from the shore. The beach is ideal for walking,
sunbathing, swimming or surfing. There are lovely rock pools for children to
explore & potter around in. The protected bathing beach has fulltime lifeguards
on duty and is protected by shark nets.
Westbrook is located approximately 30mins from Durban and 8kms from King Shaka
International airport yet out of the flightpath. The Lifestyle Centre at Ballito
is a few minutes north of Westbrook and the Gateway Theatre of Shopping and the
Sibaya Casino 15mins to the south.
Many of the country clubs along the Dolphin Coast extend a warm welcome to
visitors.
There are 4 golf courses nearby. Umhlali Country Club, Mt.Edgecombe, Zimbali,
and Prince's Grant,
There are several licensed operators on the North Coast who can take you out to
sea to get a close up view of the dolphins or to swim with the dolphin pod.
The Flag farm and Crocodile Creek for children are easily accessible. Feeding
times for crocodiles 11am or 3pm everyday.
The Bistro Restaurant and pub in Westbrook is a 3minute walk, otherwise there
are ample restaurants in Ballito.
If all you want is peace and quiet, and a tranquil retreat, then Westbrook is
the ideal location.
Set on the edge of the unspoiled and secluded beach, the area is a haven like
few others and the perfect place to unwind and relax.
