Kwe Kwe is a 265 ha private game farm, 200 km north-east of Johannesburg. We offer three self-catering lodges, between 300 and 800 meters apart from each other. Each lodge is different and has its own atmosphere. We are wheelchair friendly (Ndebele has a room adapted for wheelchair). All bedrooms are en suite and each lodge has its own swimming pool. Single party bookings per lodge ensure complete privacy. The units are comfortably furnished and fully equipped. Pets are welcome at Hornbill.
Walking and Biking
The farm consists of sweet veld savannah (bush) with a small mountain covered with trees. There is a good network of dirt roads and paths, suitable for walking and cycling unaccompanied. Guests are free to use our adult and children bikes, and our 5 pedal go-karts (for 2 � 4 or 6 kids/adults) imported from Belgium.
Game on the farm includes giraffe, wildebeest, zebra, kudu, impala, waterbuck, redhaartebeest, duiker, steenbok, jackal, warthog, mongoose, ostriches and many birds. Kwe Kwe also offers guided walks with our ranger. Each lodge has its own swimming pool, garden and playroom, with pool table, table tennis and darts.
Things to do :
Near our game farm, you can play golf or visit the crocodile farm near Marble Hall (11 km from Kwe Kwe), go on a boat trip or go bird watching and fishing at the nearby Boshielo (former Schuinsdraai) dam, at about 20 km. You can also stop at the village of Mabkhoko (40 km away) where you can see houses painted by internationally acclaimed Ndebele artists.
Hornbill:

Ndebele:
This lodge comprises of three buildings, which have been painted by the local Ndebele women from the village of Mabhoko. It can accommodate up to 9 guests. Two of the bedrooms are suitable for disabled persons (if accompanied by able-bodied guests). It is situated at the foot of the hill and has a stunning view of the reserve from the large rooftop terrace (where it is possible to sleep on camping beds, eat and braai).
It comprises of:
- main building, with dining room, kitchen (fully equipped with gas stove, fridge and freezer) and open fire. One double bedroom (suitable for the disabled) with a bathroom (shower and toilet).
- A rondavel, with double bed and bathroom (shower). It also has an outside bathroom, with shower and bath. The thatch has been treated.
- The cottage has two separate bedrooms (one double bed and two single beds) with ensuite shower and toilet. Each room has a fireplace. The upstairs private terrace can also be used for sleeping at night
- The patio can accommodate 10 guests.
- Fenced swimming pool.
- Games room with table tennis, billiards and darts.
- All bedrooms with air conditioning, heater and mosquito plug.
- There is a MTN and Vodacom signal, with an internet connection available on request in the manager's office.
- There is a CD player (if needed, we can add a TV, as long as you bring your decoder and smart card)
- There is back up lighting in case of Eskom power failures.
Tata Somba:
This thatched lodge was inspired by the traditional architecture of Benin (West Africa). Built on two levels and decorated with art and objects from Benin and surrounding African countries, it can accommodate up to 8 people.
It comprises of:
- A ground floor with kitchen (fully equipped with gas stove and fridge) lounge, dining room with open fireplace and a 2 single beds bedroom with ensuite shower and separate toilet.
- First floor with two bedrooms (two queen beds) with en suite shower and toilet.
- There is a large terrace (table seating for eight) with stunning views of the farm, especially the hill and the waterhole. Guests can braai while watching the sunset and later, the stars, and even sleep on the roof.
- About 20 meters from the main building is a cottage, with king size bed, bathroom (shower and separate toilet. There is also an outside bathroom with a bath and shower, where one can relax, while watching the bush and the stars. It has its own private terrace.
- There is a swimming pool and games room (billiard, table tennis and darts)
- The property is approximately 50 meters from the waterhole and is not fenced.
- There is a CD player (if needed, we can add a TV, as long as you bring your decoder and smart card)
- There is a MTN and Vodacom signal, with an internet connection available on request in the manager's office.
- The thatch roof has been treated for allergens and each room has a large fan
