Situated on the tidal Kromme River near St Francis Bay, Kromme Island Lodge offers bed & breakfast accommodation in five double rooms, with lunch and dinner available on request. It is ideally suited as a base if you want to make day trips to the many attractions in the area and along the Garden Route. Or simply sit back and enjoy the tranquil setting and warm hospitality of your hosts.

The Boathouse: the perfect hideaway for honeymooners who want a bit of privacy; king-size bed; en suite bathroom (shower and toilet); dressing room; small lounge area; private balcony with magnificent river views.
Riverside: privacy just metres from the jetty; king-size bed; en suite bathroom (shower and toilet); small lounge area; private balcony with sweeping views of the river and island; short walk from the communal lounge and dining room.
The Guest House: ideal for families or a group of friends travelling together; cottage with three double rooms (two river-facing): shared bathroom; small lounge area; alfresco shower; large private balcony overlooking the kloof.
All bedrooms are non-smoking.
Swimming towels are provided.
We do not accept payment by cheque or credit card. ATMs are available nearby.
Amenities
Amenities available to guests include a comfortable communal lounge with satellite television and plenty of books and magazines; dining room; a gazebo at the water's edge where meals are served weather permitting; outside seating.
Kromme Island Lodge boasts an excellent kitchen, thanks to the resident cooking enthusiasts, and the menu changes from day to day. Please enquire about our special menu for children.

There's something for everyone at Kromme Island Lodge, whether you are a nature lover, a watersport enthusiast or simply want to watch the action from the edge of the jetty.
For those who are looking for a bit more action, there is plenty to do: swimming in the tidal saltwater river (bilharzia free), canoeing, windsurfing, fishing, birdwatching, guided nature trails and sunset booze cruises.
The famous beaches of St Francis Bay and the surfers paradise of Cape St Francis are a 15 to 20 minute drive away.
