The Guest House:
The luxury thatched guest house is cleverly positioned to the side of the 7th fairway, blending into its surroundings allowing its occupants to feel at peace as part of nature. There is abundant birdlife, free roaming Impala, warthog, giraffe and other animals all around.

3 of the 4 bedrooms walk out onto a wooden deck which stretches along the entire west side of the house, overlooking a natural forest / bush (as called in South Africa). This is the perfect place to enjoy a quite early morning cup of coffee or a late afternoon sundowner with your friends or family. The 4th bedroom walks out to the fountain in the garden courtyard where you will find a bench under a tree, the ideal spot for reading.

The kitchen, lounge and dining areas all walk out onto the outside pool patio which is only a few paces away from the 7th fairway. Half of the patio is covered by thatch and the other half is open which provide the perfect spot for sunbathing next to the private swimming pool which is cut into the patio. This is probably where you’ll spend most of your time when you're not playing golf or out on Safari.

Like any truly South African abode the guest house is equipped with a large built-in braai (barbeque) with work surfaces to cater for all your al-fresco eating needs. Alternatively, there are 2 great restaurants in the resort.

The house sleeps up to 8 adults. There are 4 spacious air-conditioned, on-suite bedrooms. All with king size beds and double wardrobes. There are 4 additional single bed mattresses if needed for children. Linen and towels provided.

The bathrooms all have double vanities, a shower and a toilet. Two of the four bathrooms have a bath as well and one of these also walks out into an outside, secluded, shower.

There is 1 three-seater sofa and 1 four-seater sofa in the lounge area as well as a big screen TV, DVD and CD player as well as satellite TV.

The dining area has a 10-seater wooden table. The fully equipped kitchen houses everything you would expect: an oven and hob with extractor fan, large fridge-freezer, microwave, toaster, kettle, etc. With plenty storage space and granite work surfaces throughout. There is a separate, out of view, scullery which houses a dish washer, washing machine and tumble dryer.

For your convenience a daily cleaning service is provided at no additional cost. There is no need to fuss over cleaning the braai (barbeque) yourself either as it will be cleaned for you as part of the daily service.

The Golf Course:
This challenging 18 hole, Par 72 championship golf course was designed by Bob Grimsdall. The course is popular amongst golfers not only because of the challenges it poses as a course but also because it is one of the only courses where you are sure to encounter some wild life. This makes for an interesting day of golf were normal hazards of a championship course are spiced up with some new additions like crocodile and hippo lurking in the waters and sights such as giraffe, zebra, warthog and various antelope are frequent in the surrounds.

Location:
The Hans Merensky Golf Resort is located in Phalaborwa, Limpopo, South Africa, Only 3km from the Kruger National Park, Phalaborwa gate.

It can be reached by road or plane with daily flights out of Johannesburg. Car rental is available from the Phalaborwa airport which is no more than a 10 minute drive from the resort.

One of the highlights of your stay is certain to be an excursion to the Kruger National Park where you have the chance to see the big five in their natural habitat. The Phalaborwa Gate is a mere 5 minutes drive away from the resort. Early morning and night drives can be arranged in open air 4x4 vehicles with pick-up in the resort. Alternatively you can tour the Kruger Park in your own vehicle.

A water safari, which will take you down the Olifants River, can be arranged. You will be guaranteed encounters with hippo and crocodiles, enjoyed from your very secure motorized raft.
