Karmel is situated in the Eastern Free State.

Karmel is a guest farm 42km from Bethlehem and 6km from
Fouriesburg. The border post at Fouriesburg to Lesotho is �10km from Karmel.
Accommodation is offered in a cozy sandstone cottage with two bedrooms. Main bedroom with double bed and single bed. Second bedroom with three single beds.
A full bathroom forms part of this cottage. A self catering kitchen/living room also forms part of the cottage. Braai facilities are provided in a lapa close to the cottage.
The kitchen is equipped with an electric stove, microwave, fridge, and all crockery you may need.
All bedding and towels are supplied.
Breakfast is available with prior arrangement.
For the person who needs only a bed for the night, we offer overnight in a beautiful sandstone rooms.
Two rooms available: 1 cozy room with a double bed and a fireplace, second room with 2 single beds. These rooms are equipped with coffee mugs and a electric kettle coffee, milk and sugar. Bedding and towels are provided. These rooms have their on suite shower,toilet and wash basin.
Karmel offers a caravan site for 4 Caravans as well as a newly developed bush camp under a Sandstonecliff with hot and cold water showers, bath and flush toilets as well as braai facility and kitchen area. Bush Camp can accommodate 8 Adults.
Karmel is a fully operational farm with many cherry and other fruit trees.
On the farm we have a large variety of birdlife and breathtaking mountain views.
The dams are inviting to fishermen, beautiful picnic sites, hiking, rock climbing, camping under a overhanging cliff in the bush camp, bushmen art, quad bikes, 4x4 trails, trap shooting are available on the farm.
The Country Inn in Fouriesburg offers excellent ala carte meals.
With the Lesotho border close, trips to the Katze dam and the Afri-ski resort are popular outings.
Trout fishing, horse riding, hunting are also in the vicinity.
Ficksburg, the popular cherry Mecca, is only 54km form Karmel, the Meulspruit dam with a boat also offers beautiful scenery.
Plenty opportunity for the 4x4 lover on the farm as well as in the direct vicinity, historical buildings and sandstone buildings are to be seen all around us.
The popular Golden Gate and
Clarens are 45km and 32km from Karmel.
Small towns in the vicinity are Paul Roux, Rosendal, all these little towns are rich in historical history and beautiful sandstone buildings.
