This house exudes classical, sophisticated elegance. A large two storey 1880s
Victorian/Edwardian home in the stylish, centrally located Tamboerskloof area,
with generous proportions (sleeps 8) and recently restored to her original glory
with contemporary comfort in mind.
Nestled at the foothills of Table Mountain, next to Signal Hill and Lion's Head,
the Tamboerskloof historic area forms part of the greater central Cape Town area
referred to as "The City Bowl".
Local residents and other travelers abound the area which offers several guest
houses in the immediate vicinity. Tamboerskloof is blessed with plenty of off
street parking. A full English breakfast is available from Cafe Puka right
outside our front door. There are several well known restaurants within walking
distance. Take a longer stroll to enjoy The Company's Gardens, several museums
and the city centre. Stop in for tea at The Mount Nelson Hotel on your way home!
Jones Hall is minutes from the
popular Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, the famous Atlantic beaches and the Table
Mountain cable way.
Once you've entered the entrance hall with its sweeping staircase, you'll feel
like you've stepped into the pages of a magazine. Dark hard wood floors, soaring
ceilings and crown moldings compliment the elegant and tasteful furnishings.
Sophisticated enough for the executive yet casual enough for a family. Enjoy
your morning coffee from the balcony off the main bedroom with a view of Table
Mountain or entertain on the back patio with its own outside fireplace. You are
sure to enjoy exploring Cape Town while staying in this beautiful house.

Lounge/Dining
Soaring ceilings and huge luxuriously curtained windows in the open plan lounge
and dining room make this a special place. Plush, comfy, double sofas, original
marble fireplace and stunning dining table seats 10. Guest loo under the stairs.
Kitchen
The delightful fully equipped designer kitchen is an entertainer's dream.
Granite countertops, gleaming tile floors, 6 burner gas stove, center island
with two bar stools, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, and a designer
built in eating area with seating for 6. Double French doors lead onto the large
back patio with an American fireplace, outside eating area and additional
seating.
Media Room
Enjoy watching the large plasma TV in a separate room on the huge corner couch.
This room boasts block out curtaining, another original marble fireplace and
ceiling fan. Satellite and DVD player provided.
Master Bedroom
Enjoy staying in the spacious, romantic main bedroom with its king size pillow
top bed, Egyptian cotton linens, luxurious bathroom with two sinks, separate
shower and Victorian bathtub. Two sets of double French doors lead onto the
private balcony with views of table mountain, block out curtains, built in
cupboards, ceiling fan.
2nd En Suite
The soothing colors in this bedroom compliment the views of Signal Hill from the
oversized window. King size pillow top bed (can be separated into two singles),
Egyptian cotton linens, bathroom with shower, block out curtains, built in
cupboards, ceiling fan.
Bunk Room
This room will delight children and adults alike with its two sets of custom
built extra length bunk beds. The frames of these beds were specifically made
high enough to accommodate adults but perfect for children as well. Quality
linens, block out roman blinds, ceiling fan, built in cupboards. Shared bath
across the hall has an extra large shower with built in seat.
