The Augrabies Falls with it's dramatic rock formations are an awesome site to behold. Water from the Orange River surges over the 60m cliff into a gorge below.

Black rhino were successfully introduced into the park in 1985 from Namibia's Etosha Pan. Plenty of Hiking Trails for the active including the 40 km Klipspringer Hiking Trail which tackles some the rugged terrain including a 5 km stretch along the Orange River.

The Augrabies Falls are best visited between October and January, when the Orange River floods. Bare in mind temperatures in the Northern Cape soar into the 40's this time of year, so bring plenty of refreshments. Sunrise and sunset are the best times for visiting the Falls, as the temperatures are milder and the golden coloured cliffs come alive.

- 120 km west of Upington, and 10 km west of Kakamas
- exit the N14 and take the R359 north
