Whether you're into birding, boating, or botany, the Ohrigstad Dam and surrounding hillsides will provide a pleasant and enjoyable weekend for everyone.

The ravines and kloofs in the reserve provide sanctuary to a number of interesting birdlife, as well as an assortment of orchids and aloe, indigenous to the region. Kudu and Burchell's zebra have been reintroduced to the the reserve, to compliment a number of other antelope such as klipspringer, eland, and duiker.

The dam is well stocked with barbel, carp, tilipia and yellow fish, which and also attracts a number of aquatic birds, such as the purple-crested lourie.
