Eendracht Hotel Vista Trail Run
The magnificent mountains of Stellenbosch play host to the Eendracht Hotel Vista Trail Run each year, and 2013 sees a more challenging 12 km trail run and a 5 km fun run perfect for families. The event will be held in aid of two childrens charities, the Anna Foundation in Stellenbosch and the President Kruger Childrens Home in Reddersburg.

The12km Trail Run has a 07:30 start and the 5km Family Fun Run starts 5 minutes after that with a 09:30 cut off time for both races. The event takes place at the Coetzenburg Athletic Stadium in Stellenbosch. Both routes will start here and run across the sports fields and then turn to the foot of the Stellenbosch Mountain. The Eendracht Hotel Vista Trail Run course winds through fynbos, indigenous bush and eucalyptus and offers magnificent views of Stellenbosch, the Winelands, False Bay and Table Mountain. The routes surfaces differ between technical single tracks, level jeep tracks, a small pavement section, and also include tartan and grass. Only one water point will be provided along the 5km route and three along the 12km one. 1500 participant awards will be given, the first 1000 participants to complete the 12km route and the first 500 to complete the 5km. Only the 12km race is timed and the results will be made available on the race website after the event. The prize-giving ceremony will be held at 09:30 and trophies will be given to winners as well as lucky draw prizes to participants.

The Eendracht Hotel Vista 2013 is presented by Gereformeerde Kerk Stellenbosch in association with Stellenbosch Athletics Club according to the rules of Boland Athletics and Athletics South Africa, for the sole benefit of the two childrens charities, Anna Foundation (Stellenbosch) and Pres. Kruger Childrens Home (Reddersburg).

Directions to the Coetzenburg venue

From the Cape Town Airport next to the N2 national road:
From Cape Town International Airport take N2 turn-off to Somerset West. Proceed on N2 highway. Take Baden Powell/Stellenbosch turn-off (EXIT 33). At the T-junction turn left on to the R310 to Stellenbosch and continue all the way until you reach a T-junction. Turn right to Stellenbosch. At second traffic light turn right into DORP Street (BP garage on right-hand corner). Continue straight down Dorp Street. Road bends in natural bend to the right. After bend take first left into The Avenue ("DIE LAAN"). Continue straight until first stop street. Turn right and drive over narrow bridge. Coetzenburg Stadium is right in front of you. Parking available both to your left and right.

From the N1 national road:
From Cape Town towards Paarl. Take Malmesbury/Stellenbosch ramp to your left. At the T-junction turn right. Keep on the R304. In Stellenbosch the R304 becomes BIRD Street. Bird Street ends in DORP Street at a Mini Roundabout. Turn left into Dorp Street. Road bends in natural bend to the right. After bend, take first left into The Avenue ("DIE LAAN"). Continue straight until first stop street. Turn right and drive over narrow bridge. Coetzenburg Stadium is right in front of you. Parking available both to your left and right.
