BMW International Polo Series

The BMW International Polo Series which is played against a touring international team, is played August each year. The first Test, which always takes place on a Sunday, is played at Shongweni, near Durban and the second Test, which is played a week later, will moving from the Inanda Club, to the spacious Waterfall Polo Park in Sunninghill, Johannesburg as of 2012. The Waterfall Polo Park is a stunning new expansive development where participants and visitors will have room for so much more than they have ever had before. The Waterfall Polo Park has been beautifully laid out and consists of three polo fields, two of which are at the disposal of the event for parking and other facilities. In 2012 SAPA was delighted to announce that the Indian Polo Association has accepted the invitation to send their National side to participate in the 2012 BMW Polo Series on Sunday 19 August at Shongweni in Durban and Sunday 26 August at Waterfall Polo Park in Johannesburg. India have only played in the August BMW Series once previously in 2005 which saw the home side emerging victorious. No doubt spectators can look forward to another fabulous polo experience especially at the new venue in Johannesburg.

Waterfall Polo Park is located within the Waterfall Country and Equestrian Estate, a 200 hectare secure country estate less than 10 minutes drive north of the Sandton Central Business District, between Woodmead and Kyalami. It is a 40 minute drive from Oliver Tambo (Johannesburg) International Airport.
