Safari Half Marathon
The Safari Half Marathon is an annual event which takes place in Wellington in Cape Town, South Africa. It is a well organised and well supported event. The whole family will enjoy the day out. It is fun-filled with loads of exciting things to see and do. Participants and supporters enjoy the festivities. The Safari Half Marathon will take place on the 2nd May 2011, dates for 2012 are to be confirmed.
There are three race options for participants including a 5km fun run for the whole family. There is the 21.1km half marathon, the 21.1km relay race and there is a 10km walk.

All entries close on the 17th April 2011. Early-bird entries close on the 31st March 2011.
21.1km Half Marathon:
Entries are limited to 5500 participants. The Half Marathon will start in Willem Basson Road. Gold Medals will be awarded to the first 6 men and the first 6 ladies. The cut-off time for Silver medals is 90minutes. All athletes who complete the race successfully within the set time will receive a Bronze medal. The cut-off time is 11:15am.
The relay race is made up of teams of 2 runners. Each runner must run half the distance and complete their own entry form.
The Walk will start in General Hertzog Boulevard. No running will be permitted and all finishers will receive medals.
Be sure to mark this event on your calendar, the whole family will enjoy the fun-filled day out. Participants and supporters can enjoy a variety of stalls from food, drinks and many other items. There will also be a Beer Garden, New Balance shoe fitting machine, New Balance sports massage therapist and SAD products and promotional items for sale.
