The Rhode House Museum In Mooi River is situated in an old house which is the
former residence of local businessman of days gone by, Edgar Rhode. Rhode was a
prominent resident of the area, and served as the chairman of the first town
board in 1921. The Rhode House Museum offers visitors a variety of interesting
and informative local history exhibits which depict various activities of the
area, such as dairy farming, polo, a photographic display of Bruntville- the
local black township, Zulu beadwork and a number of other settler items.
