Queens Park Zoo & Botanical Gardens (East London Zoo)

The East London Zoological Gardens is a small 10 hectare zoo located just west of the East London CBD in Queens Park. The East London Zoo houses about 50 mammal species, including chimpanzees and white lions. The zoo also has a small number of birds, fish, and reptiles on display.

The East London Zoo also has a children's playground, pony rides and the "Smarties Train".

The Zoo is surrounded by the East London Botanical Gardens, also known as Queens Park. Fort Glamorgan and the Gatley House Historical Museum are also located in Queens Park.  Many of South Africa's endangered cycads can be found in the botanical gardens.
