Grape Crushing Festival
The Grape Crushing Festival is located at The Stables Wine Estate in Nottingham
Road in the Midlands (KwaZulu-Natal) it is an annual festival held by the Stables
Wine Estate to celebrate the end of another hectic summer harvest season. The
festival provides opportunity for people who are wine lovers to 'tromp' their
own grapes.
'Tromping' of grapes is a classic French tradition where the grapes are
foot-stomped after being carefully cleaned, the juice is then used to make the
season's wine.
The festival will also have pony rides and face painting for the children and
there will be various food and drinks for sale such as boerewors and prego
rolls, cheeseboards, beer and soft drinks.
