Songimvelo Game Reserve

Songimvelo is a wonderful mixture of grassland, savannah and misty ravines set against the backdrop of the towering mountains of Swaziland to the east.

Birders can expect to tic off a large number of species while exploring this varied landscape, whether they be louires and nightjars in the ravines surrounding the Komati River or the not-so-hard-to-miss ostrich dancing about the bushveld.

Mysterious archaeological ruins, dating back to the Iron Age watch over the park. A 4-day "wilderness awareness" course is available for those wishing to experience the park close-up.
