Ramsgate is set among the lush green sub-tropical vegetation of the area. This is banana country. The fishing is good, and rocks off the shore abound with mussels. Ramsgate has plenty of beds of all kinds, from self-catering apartments to luxury hotels. Nearby Margate is the centre for nightlife on the south coast of KwaZulu-Natal, and when the discos close, there are parties on the beach.
