Situated about halfway between Hibberdene and Port Shepstone is the small seaside village of Melville. Melville is well situated with both residential and holiday accommodation and nearby caravan parks. The nearest shopping centre is that at Port Shepstone about ten kilometers to the south of Melville. The lighthouse in Port Shepstone is one of three recently declared national monuments in the town.
